Your Host City - Auckland
The host city for the meeting, Auckland, is the largest city in New Zealand and is considered the ‘gateway' to the country. Otherwise known as the City of Sails, it is a beautiful city built around a stunning waterfront and unspoiled harbour. With a population of about 1.5 million, it is also New Zealand's commercial centre.
In 1999 Auckland hosted and won the prestigious America's Cup yacht race. The city's waterfront has been developed into a vibrant entertainment area with a host of upmarket restaurants, bars and shops. Other attractions include the magnificent Maritime Museum, Hobson Wharf and the fascinating Antarctic Exhibition at Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World.
Auckland is an exciting, ever changing city. Lively, sophisticated, cosmopolitan and multi-cultural. Yet it also offers an easy escape to beaches, parks, golf courses, bush and countryside within a very short journey
